| Interview Tips & Techniques |
- Do your homework! Find out as much about the organisation vacancy as possible. The consultant should be able to give you plenty of information, but be pro-active! Research the company yourself, use the internet, contact them and ask for brochures etc to be sent to you.
- Check the location and the journey before the interview, and try to arrive 10 minutes before the interview- this will enable you to be relaxed and calm instead of sweating and stressed when you arrive!
- First impressions last!!
Dress appropriately (ideally, smart and professional) and remember to introduce yourself on arrival and offer a firm handshake.
- Show an interest! Prepare questions for them before the interview (ie potential prospects, training provided, background of company etc). This will show an enthusiasm for wanting to work with them.
- Take a copy of your CV with you; Mason Clay will have already sent a copy on behalf of you, but this shows your organisation skills and can act as a prompt for you to talk about your previous experience.
- Don't be afraid to sell yourself and the skills you can offer!
- Try to relax and enjoy yourself. Remember, you are interviewing them as much as they are interviewing you.
